Over the years Detroit has produced some very entertaining and compelling podcasts. Unfortunately, a number of them have folded and no longer exist.
We've compiled a current list of some of Detroit's more entertaining podcasts. Yes, we're a little biased and have included two -- "The Week That Was," which is part of Deadline Detroit, and "Detroit and Black and White" which includes co-host Allan Lengel, editor of Deadline Detroit.

St. Brown Brothers Podcast -- Beloved Detroit Lions Amon Ra St. Brown and brother Equanimeous St. Brown of the New Orleans Saints, talk football amongst themselves and guests including a number of Detroit Lions. Entertaining, informative and funny.
The No B.S. Newshour With Charlie LeDuff -- Pulitzer Prize winner Charlie LeDuff and crew shake it up with guests and provocative commentary. LeDuff previously worked for the New York Times, Fox 2, Detroit News and Deadline Detroit. His co-hosts include Karen Dumas, who worked for Detroit mayors. They broadcast upstairs at American Coney Island in downtown Detroit.
ML Soul of Detroit -- Pulitzer Prize winner M.L. Elrick, an investigative columnist for the Detroit Free Press, talks with guests and regular crew members Marc Fellhauer and Detroit Free Press sports columnist Shawn Windsor. An informative show mixed with irreverence and good humor.
Daily Detroit -- Jer Staes keeps his finger on the pulse of Detroit, talking about the latest in business, restaurants and other matters. The calm, folksy, fun tone has the feel of a public radio broadcast. He broadcasts from TechTown in Detroit's New Center area.
Detroit in Black and White: Adolph Mongo, who went from being a reporter to a political consultant for the biggest names in Detroit, hosts the show along with attorney Vanessa Moss, Deadline Detroit co-founder Allan Lengel, former Trenton Police Chief Jim Nardone and community activist Eric Brown. Guests have included former Fox 2 anchor Huel Perkins, Richard "White Boy Rick" Wershe, mayoral and Congressional candidates and Republican political strategist Jason Roe. A feature of the show always includes "Outrage of the Week."
The show broadast three times a week. On Saturday, they normally broadcast from McShane's Irish Pub in Corktown.
The Week That Was: Host Saeed Khan, a witty and well-informed Wayne State University professor, talks weekly about local, national and international events with regular guests including attorneys Steve Fishman, Bill Seikaly and Joel Sklar, veteran journalist Nancy Derringer, community activist Barb Ingalls and Deadline Detroit co-founder Allan Lengel. Other guests have included Beverly Watts, Huel Perkins, Devin Scillian, Sam Robinson and Darci McConnell. The show always concludes with nominees for "Schmuck of the Week."
Talking Positive with Randy and Alan: Metro Detroiters Alan H. Kideckel and Randy Holloway produce an uplifting podcast featuring positive people who have overcome adversity and great challenges in life. For those who have been knocked down, the podcasts inspires them to get back up and move forward.
Locked On Pistons: Ku Khahil describes his podcast this way: "The credentialed media member brings podcast listeners inside the team from a fan's and expert's perspective on the only daily Pistons podcast. We've got guests, analysis and laughs as the Pistons try to get back to the glory days." Part of the Locked On Podcast Network.
The Detroit History Podcast: Veteran journalist and University of Michigan-Dearborn Professor Tim Kiska, in collaboration with his son Eric Kiska and a number of others, produces a season's worth of first-rate podcasts on the history of Detroit.The last season in 2024 produced eight episodes on subjects that included Michigan Central Station, Chung's restaurant and Chinatown and the last hanging in Detroit.
The Drew Lane Show: Drew Lane and partner Mike Clark hosted a wildly popular show on WRIF called the "The Drew and Mike Show" from 1991 to 2013. The two later reunited to do a podcast, which attracted a lot of their fans from the radio. Mike died in 2018 at age 63. Drew has continued the podcast with co-host Marc Fellhauer.
Wake Up Woodward: Hosts Flannel Sam and Detroit Kool-Aid break down all things Detroit sports. Live on the Woodward Sports Network every Monday-Friday from 8am-10am.
Winged Wheel Podcast -- Hosts Brad Krysko, Evan Lobsinger and Ryan Hana host what they promote as the biggest Detroit Red Wings podcast on the air.
7MileRadio -- Marc D'andre reports from the Detroit streets and broadcasts regularly.
The Dave LewAllen Podcast -- The former WXYZ anchor has reinvented himself with a podcast. He describes the podcast this way: "The Dave LewAllen Podcast is the exciting next chapter as Dave utilizes his network of contacts to bring you the stories behind the story from coaches and athletes, as well as interviews with newsmakers of the day and individuals who are making a difference in the lives of people across southeast Michigan and the state of Michigan."
The Valenti Show Podcast-- The one and only Mike Valenti of WXYT-FM 97.1 delivers sports talk the way you like it -- with no b.s. and with some pretty smart insight.
Bankole’s Nation Podcast -- Detroit News columnist Bankole Thompson offers some strong opinions and talks with guests. He describes the show this way: "The podcast is a fresh, intelligent and courageous perspective on the issues shaping Detroit and the nation, and provides viewers and listeners with some of the best analysis, commentaries and exclusive interviews."
Others:
