During his final Sunday show on WDIV's Flastpoint, the retiring Devin Scillian announced that WDIV's Christy McDonald will take over as the new host. McDonald came on the set and chatted with Scillian.
In her station bio, McDonald is described as an Emmy-Award winning TV anchor and journalist who has covered news in Detroit and Michigan for 25 years. For the past 10 years, she was Managing editor/anchor for WTVS Detroit PBS One Detroit.
She also anchored special coverage for DPTV including documentaries, live news events, and the Mackinac Policy Conference, the bio said.
She joined WDIV as an anchor and reporter in 2022.
She was married to popular Detroit radio personality Jamie Samuelsen, who died of colon cancer in August 2020.
